The Wrestler of the Week is Tara, the TNA Knockout champion. Tara has done many things to surprise us in her career. She has wrestled and beaten the best wrestlers and continues to beat the best wrestlers.
Since her entry into TNA, Tara has continued to her fire. She won the TNA Knockout title almost immediately and has taken out the top talent in a very talented division. Tara took out Angelina Love, Madison Rayne, ODB who she took the title from this time… and yes, Awesome Kong in a cage.
Tara continues her winning ways and is holding on to her TNA Knockout title tightly. This week she competed in the highest rated match on the highest rated night for TNA. Fans love the very skilled TNA Knockout wrestlers and Tara tops this division. In a losing effort to grab hold of the TNA Tag Team Knockout titles as well, Tara’s success was stopped short by Daffney’s interference.
Nevertheless, Tara makes me proud to not only support women’s wrestling, but even more specifically the TNA Knockouts as they have raised the bar in wrestling entertainment. I will watch TNA on Monday Nights largely due to the Knockouts.
We look forward to every match Tara, this is why you are our Wrestler of the Week!

Wrestler of the Week
OK… now this is something I have been loyally defending for months! TNA Knockouts… women of wrestling… it isn’t the 80’s anymore where the best finisher from a female is the “school girl”, (referencing Fabulous Moolah’s move). This is a different era of female wrestlers and their fans.
I have an easy time watching talented and skillful women wrestle. It beats watching the old men attempt to wrestle. I enjoy all wrestling though I do have my preferences. I believe more and more fans are thinking this way… it makes sense. These females can go at it!
Hogan tries to get TNA in to the depths of competition with WWE and throws everything out there in one show… even the kitchen sink. Sting goes bad, RVD beats him in less than a minute, Kurt Angle had the military out to the ring to help beat up Mr.Anderson, a great X-division match and even dragging around old WCW shit. But what comes out on top of all that according to us viewers… the TNA Knockout match.
Dixie Carter, the founder of TNA has been depleting her TNA Knockout arsenal since Hogan’s conception, some of the most idiotic wrestling business decisions I have seen… this is saying a lot as Vince McMahon is nothing but a douche.
I know you won’t listen to me Dixie, I am just a fan… what do I know? Though numbers don’t lie, and your Knockouts stepped your promotion up once again.
Don’t get excited fans… Awesome Kong was the number 1 female wrestler in 2009 and was carrying a title when they traded her in for Bubba the whatever.

TNA Knockouts = ratings
So TNA had a lame excuse to strip the tag team titles from Hamada and Awesome Kong. They quickly stated that they did not defend the title in a 30 day period so it was relinquished. You know I think I would have felt better if they just came right out and said they got rid of Awesome Kong because Bubba the whatever is so fricken valuable to the show. The jury is out with Hamada right now… what is she doing?
Well now that I got that off my system, let me add that the one TNA Knockout match that was featured on Monday Live TNA was decent. We got to see Sarita and Taylor Wilde at least back out there in the light. Angelina Love with Tara… not liking the combo though I am a big fan of both wrestlers.
New Tag Team Champions were the 3rd team in the match, The Beautiful People. The TNA Tag Team titles officially belong to Velvet Sky and Madison Rayne. This is good, they both deserve it and have paid their TNA dues to get the title for a while. It is a shame they didn’t get it from Kong and Hamada. Kinda taints the TNA Tag Team title if you ask me, especially considering The Beautiful People are only the 3rd TNA Tag Team champions.
Anyway, congrats to the wonderfully talented TNA Knockouts.

Stephanie McMahon is pregnant for the 3rd time! Congrats to you and Triple H. They are creating their own “evolution“.
The Day Female Wrestling Died… it was not the day Alundra Blaze (Medusa) threw the WWF/WWE belt in the garbage… it wasn’t the day Vince McMahon pulled his first screw job on Wendy Richter… it wasn’t even when the Fabulous Moolah beat Tara (Victoria) at the age of 80 something.
Today is the day female wrestling died! Don’t get me wrong, the public will resuscitate female wrestling in the super promotions known as WWE and TNA, in fact, I see the WWE creatives trying to work it out. But think about it…
WWE finds beautiful women and attempts to turn them into superstars. This seldom works as most are models just looking to get noticed by TV so they can live the easy, spoiled life for a while. TNA found great female talent which thrived for several years. Women in TNA were respected as they knew how to wrestle, very well. Since Hulk Hogan’s watch, TNA Founder Dixie Carter has lost her interest in the TNA Knockouts. Hogan has changed the face of TNA… the face is 30 years older and turning into an all-male fraternity.
First, Melissa Anderson (AKA Raisha Saeed, Cheerleader Melissa, Alissa Flash) disappeared from TNA. Then followed the release of Awesome Kong (Kia Stevens), Traci Brooks and now Nikki Raczynski (Nikki Roxx) is ironically taken off the TNA website. In the last month we have seen one Knockout match a week. Yet, we get to spend more time with Ric Flair… really?
WWE Divas lack story lines and the female wrestlers are not taken seriously… as they should be. There are some super-talented stars in the WWE Women’s division like Michelle McCool, Melina, Beth Phoenix and Maria Kanellis… oh wait, they just released Maria. What Diva goes NXT?
Female wrestling will have it’s resurgence in a matter of days thanks to promotions like Women Superstars Uncensored (WSU), SHIMMER (associated with Ring of Honor), and the new Wrestlicious. These super talented women will continue to have a venue to pour their hearts out for the sake of our entertainment.
Continue to support female wrestling. They truly bust their ass day in and day out to earn the respect of the fans… not just as sex objects but as pure talent.

First, Alissa Flash (Melissa Anderson) leaves, then Awesome Kong (Kia Stevens) is released… days later, TNA gets rid of Traci Brooks (Tracy Brookshaw) who has been wearing TNA colors since 2003.
There was a point recently where I found myself looking more forward to TNA then WWE because of the Knockout division. Now Hulk Hogan and Dixie Carter are dismantling the greatest women’s division ever, in a matter of weeks!
So the big day for TNA is March 8th, 2010 as they go live against WWE on Monday. May I suggest to the loyal Knockout fans… Wrestlicious will be online that day with a new episode on Bite TV… TNA may give you one Knockout match along with a boring Nasty Boy match as even the Dudley’s have gotten too old and sore to move well.
Maybe Jericho was right, this promotion got old quick and if you are into watching old men wrestle, tune into TNA. I hope Traci Brooks gets her redemption somewhere else that appreciates modern wrestling entertainment. Screw you Dixie Carter! I am done apologizing for you.
Wrestlicious had it’s first episode on the 1st… and we loved it. At least the wrestling parts of it. March 8th, 2010 will mark the 2nd installment of Wrestlicious; Paige Webb (Serena Deeb) vs Autumn Frost (Jennifer Blake) are wrestling… Serena is now on WWE. Jennifer is worth watching! If you haven’t had a chance to see either of these women wrestle, I assure you it won’t be with weak pillows. You can see Wrestlicious online Monday on Bite TV.
Every month we observe a top 10 list that places the all of female wrestling competition. We consider recent accomplishments, victories, losses, public reaction and talent to make our ratings.
Here is the top 10 Female Wrestlers for March!
