Pro Wrestling Illustrated – Top 50 of 2011… Are you kidding?

Sep 16th, 2011

Pro Wrestling Illustrated – Top 50 of 2011… Are you kidding?
I have been bursting at the seams trying to figure out how this list is decided. Not to say that every WWE Diva doesn’t really know much about wrestling, but let us be honest, most of them don’t. WWE Divas are mostly models trained to ‘attempt’ to wrestle and to us viewers of the wrestling universe, is difficult to watch, we are not idiots generally speaking. Sure, they are good ‘eye candy’ but we can get that sweet-tooth fixed by watching Manswers.
This isn’t my only problem with the top 50 list….lets dissect the PWI top 50 women wrestlers of 2011;
1. Madison Eagles – 1st off, she does belong in the top 10, but number 1? She is the Shimmer champion but the only top names she has defeated are Sassy Stephie and Cheerleader Melissa.
2. Mercedes Martinez – Should be number 1! Defeated everyone in the business and always has at least 1 title, currently WXW Women’s champion.
3. Mickie James – Overrated; though she seems to maintain a certain fan base. She can wrestle but should she be in the top 3? …we don’t think so.
4. Natalya – This one they had right. Not your normal WWE Diva, obviously.
5. Madison Rayne – She is a good wrestler and deserves to be in the top 50, but not the top 10.
6. Cheerleader Melissa – Melissa belongs in the top 10, she is a future legend.
7. Beth Phoenix – We agree this woman has unlimited potential, but she hasn’t done much of anything for a while, so how the heck can you put her in the top 10?
8. Tara – Tara deserves recognition, just not this much.
9. MsChif – Should be in the top 3! She has held titles for years at a time, recently. She is an INDY future hall of famer.
10. Sara Del Rey – Tough girl, deserves her spot.
11. Eve Torres – WTH? She can hardly wrestle, doesn’t belong in the top 50.
12. Angelina Love – Very talented, and may deserve her spot, though TNA has been using her as some kind of sidekick, way to go TNA creatives.
13. Layla – Quoting The Miz here….”Really?…. Really?…. Reaaallly?”
14. Sarita – Under-used, deserves more exposure… but deserves a top 20 spot.
15. Kelly Kelly – Do we even call this one a wrestler?
16. Serena Deeb – Would be a good fit in TNA, not sure about her spot, but she definitely belongs amongst the top 50 elite
17. Velvet Sky- She has earned this spot.
18. Ayako Hamada – She was shafted out of TNA, if she had a good platform/promotion she would be an easy top 10.
19. LuFisto – Tough girl, and fits in her spot.
20. Winter – Doesn’t belong in the top 50… not yet.
21. Brie Bella – Isn’t she a valet? Almost forgot, WWE gave her a title to hold for a while. Ugh.
22. Angel Orsini – Should be in the top 10! High caliber wrestling every time she enters the ring.
23. Melina – She has some skills but now is deemed irrelevant after WWE dropped her.
24. Daizee Haze – Love to watch her wrestle, fun to watch, just hasn’t won that ‘break-out’ title yet.
25. Nikki Roxx – Great competitor, but is never completely taken serious.
26. Gail Kim – She hasn’t done anything and doesn’t belong in the top 50. WWE may have ruined her career, she should have stayed in TNA.
27. Jazz – Deserves her spot.
28. Maryse – This is not a popularity contest, what is she doing here?
29. Christina Von Eerie – OK with this.
30. Portia Perez – OK with this too.
31. Rosita – Not OK at all with this. She shouldn’t be in here.
32. ODB – We like her style, she fits in the top 50
33. Nicole Matthews – Belongs
34. Rachel Summerlyn – Belongs
35. Jessicka Havok – Allysin Kay should fit in here as well.
36. Brittany Force – Big fan, deserves her spot.
37. Kellie Skater- OK
38. Tina San Antonio – OK
39. Melanie Cruise – love it
40. Cherry Bomb – I guess
41. Sassy Stephie – I think she was shafted, deserves a better spot
42. Tasha Simone – Yes, underrated even.
43. Alicia Fox – Maybe in the top 100.
44. Amber O’Neal – Deserves top 50 status.
45. Allison Danger – Deserves top 50 status.
46. Kacee Carlisle – Belongs in the top 25.
47. Brittany Savage – Yes, she has been good for Women Superstars Uncensored (WSU)
48. A.J. – Boring!!!
49. Melissa Coates – Works for us.
50. Jessica James – OK

Though so many are missing… is this to fill in the WWE wrestlers so WWE fans can see where their favorite ‘eye candy’ fits in. Where is Kimberly? You know, WXW Women’s Champion for the better part of the last 2 years. Where is Niya Barela, C4 champion? Saraya or Britani Knight? How about Mickie Knuckles or Jessie Smothers? Chrissy Johnson?
Let us not be fooled by the PWI popularity contest, Mae Young wrestles better now then Eve Torres!

November Female Ranks are in!

Nov 22nd, 2010

Michelle McCool had been topping this list for a very long time. This month will considerably be her last month on the number 1 spot unless something changes… and quickly. Other talents from Independent promotions are showing more heart and tenacity than what is offered by the big promotions like WWE and TNA. You can find these talents all over the globe and in many different promotions including SHIMMER, WXW, and Pro Wrestling EVE.
Find out where your favorites stand this month, and give us your opinion on who should hit the list in December. RANKINGS

Kimberly – WXW Women’s Champion (Interview)

Sep 18th, 2010

CCW Kimberly

Wrestlers Female Interviewing WXW Women’s Champion Kimberly. Kimberly is a breakout star in WXW and works very hard. She was gracious enough to allow us this interview.

Wrestlers Female: What got you started in wrestling?
Kimberly: When I was a little girl, I used to watch wrestling with my older brother. He eventually grew out of it…I never did. As much as my mom hated me watching it, I did anyway. Sometimes I’d have to pretend I was doing homework and close the door just to do it! When I grew up, I looked for wrestling schools all over. Back then, they werent as easy to find as they are today. I went to Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, FL to work on my degrees when through many adventures I met the Warlord. It wasn’t until the Warlord, whom I met through Marty Jannetty, brought me to Soul Man Alex G that I actually began living my dream. I train with Afa, Ricky Santana, Haku, and Jimmy Snuka at The Wild Samoan Training Center whom have really developed my abilities.

Temptress Kimberly

WF: What and when was your debut?
Kimberly: After about 9 or 10 months of training, I debuted in Feb 2007 against Sybil Pageant on the South Florida Independent circuit. It was a basic match, but until that moment the most exhilarating time of my life!

WF: Your favorite moves, type of wrestling and wrestlers?
Kimberly: I love mat wrestling. My favorite moves are anything amatuer-ish. I love the styles of Dean Malenko, Chris Benoit, and Ricky Steamboat just to name a few. I love suplexes of every variety and some moves from the top, but if I could have it my way, I wouldn’t leave the center of the ring!!!
Any background that separates you from everyone? I believe I am very fortunate to have had some of the best minds in wrestling influence my training. Many of whom are/were amatuer wrestlers before turning pro. Soul Man Alex G has had the patience to work with me daily. Thank you Alex. Norman Smiley shared his amazing techniques when he could, Dean Malenko had patience with me and much encouragement, Jimmy Snuka taught me, among countless other things, my arm drags(I thought I was going to kill him! lol ), Marty Jannetty taught me to laugh, Pat Tanaka taught realism with concurrence, Haku brought out my aggression, Ricky Santana focused on Psychology, Rocky Johnson brought out my punches, Warlord and Barbarian taught me life on the road cross-country, and Last, but certainly not least is my beloved “Pops“, Afa “The Wild Samoan” who along with his lovely wife Lynn are combining my lessons and teaching me the “Business”. These names do not include the countless other individuals and Legends that have taught me a little something throughout my training as a wrestler. Thank you all!
My real name is Kimberly Whitehead and my aka is The Temptress but now I go by Kimberly

WF: Do you have a favorite match, and/or opponents?
Kimberly: I love all of my matches, some better than others just because I learn something different with every one and from every opponent! Each person takes me to a new level as a worker.

WXW Kimberly

WF: Thank you for your time and dedication to the business. We have been watching your career closely since your inception into WXW and we consider WXW and Kimberly a perfect match. WXW is a class A promotion with class A talent. Hall of Famer Afa has trained and assisted many, many wrestlers at The Wild Samoan Training Center and both WWE and TNA have seen many of his talent including the recent Tamina (Sarona Snuka). He is truly the best at preparing his wrestlers for success.

WWE Smackdown was predictable, boring and just plain awful!

Sep 11th, 2010

Really? What the hell was I watching yesterday. I must first admit, I fast forwarded past some of the show because I could barely stay awake. What do you mean Mercedes, Smackdown is Awwwesoommme!? Shut up and listen….

Match #1: Jack Swagger (who they can’t seem to find a good story for) vs the ever-so “borin” (not to be mistook for “ballin”) MVP. They both appeared sluggish and if someone put their hands on my father, I would’ve broke MVP’s leg when Kurt Angle… I mean Jack Swagger put him in the ankle lock. {May I suggest Jillian Hall comes out to sing only to be disrupted by… Awesome Kong?}
OK, so match 1 sucked, maybe the show will get better. I mean after all, we are leading up to a match we see about once every year and a half, The Undertaker vs Kane… just keep in mind, The Undertaker is winning the next Wrestlemania and the opponent will have to be something more special then Shawn Michaels twice in a row.
Match #2: Alberto Del Rio vs Matt Hardy… gawd! How predictable was this one. Pudgy Matt Hardy has won like two matches since his brother left. Everyone is kickin his ass and then you have Alberto. Mr. Del Rio has been running his mouth for many weeks, I honestly faded out each time, but I assumed he was being pushed. Who better to beat up then the “otherHardy. Christian runs in to save his bitch… I mean Matt Hardy from further destruction. Obvious set up for Christian vs Alberto.
About this time I am getting even more angry with TNA for not switching their show to Friday this week…
Match #3: Drew McIntyre vs Kaval was by far the best match of the night, though that isn’t saying much. Drew always wins, so we knew the outcome before it started. Just like Evan Bourne matches, Kaval is a human highlight reel that always loses the big matches. This is what KoKo B. Ware felt like in the 80s….
Match #4: Dolph Ziggler and Chavo Guerrero vs Kofi Kingston and Chris Masters…. ‘yawn’… sorry. Yeah, nothing to watch here…. Kofi gets the simple victory as a lead into the pay-per-view. I must admit though, Vicki does her job well, she annoys the crap out of me.
Match #5: CM Punk vs The Undertaker ….well if The Undertaker is facing Heavyweight Champion Kane at Night of Champions, is there really any chance of CM Punk coming out of this victoriously. CM Punk is a great WWE talent, The Undertaker looked like Kevin Nash out there in the ring; old, feeble, and ready for retirement. He did get up on the ropes for “old school”, I didn’t think he would make it that far. Kudos for continuing that old, stupid move. The Undertaker wins, surprise surprise!
The entire time The Undertaker was out there he was coughing as if he were Doc Holiday at the OK Corral. Explains why he stays away from acting. …and now they are moving on to the Science Fiction channel, how fitting.
I have never been so discouraged to watch the WWE shows and with Triple H eventually coming back from his vacation he luxuriously spent with the new baby, we will yet again get to see him in main event matches. How much control does the daughter of WWE boss and the son-in-law that has fathered several of the McMahon grandchildren. And where was the Diva action!!!
That’s it, I’m done bitchin’. I think I will go and watch Wrestlicious… that always makes me feel better. I always know what i am getting when i watch that:) ~Mercedes w/ WrestlersFemale

WWE Divas and WWE Women’s Title to be Unified!

Sep 2nd, 2010

When WWE split their shows up it confused story lines and made titles seem less worth an accomplishment. Although many WWE Divas deserve the opportunity to be the champion of the world, it downplays the feat by having 2 belts.
The best thing the WWE could do to brighten their Diva roster is by combining the titles into one. What better match to do this with than a Michelle McCool vs Melina match, which have been some of the best in recent WWE history. Of course Layla could and probably will influence the story line, I believe people will appreciate and respect the title and title holder more than ever.

Good move WWE!!!
